Tony Aitchison Named SAPCA Person of the Year 2026

We are thrilled to announce that our very own Tony Aitchison has been honoured with the prestigious Person of the Year title at the SAPCA Awards 2026.

Now in its 11th year, the SAPCA Awards serve as the definitive celebration of achievement within the sports and play construction industry. Tony’s recognition comes during a milestone year for the association, highlighting his exceptional dedication and the significant impact he has made on the sector over the past 12 months.

A Rigorous Selection Process

Tony was selected from a highly competitive pool of entries by a distinguished judging panel. The panel featured several prominent industry leaders, working alongside SAPCA’s Technical Lead, Colin Corline, and members of the SAPCA Board.
In total, six category winners were crowned, each representing the “best of the best” in a field that continues to raise the bar for quality and innovation in UK sports infrastructure.

The quality of this year’s submissions was particularly high, making Tony’s win a truly remarkable feat. Reflecting on the calibre of the 2026 entries, Colin Corline commented:
