Sports Surface Repairs (Fix It)

Whether it’s lifting seams, worn patches, or sub-base movement, our repair service catches surface damage early, before it becomes a safety hazard or a costly closure.

As your surface gets older, areas of failure can begin to appear, particularly along the glued seams and inlaid lines. High-use areas wear quickly, and damage can occur where it is least expected. You may also experience problems beneath the playing surface, where movement in the base creates uneven, hollow, or raised areas, tree roots can often cause these issues. Left unaddressed, every one of these issues turns your surface into a health and safety risk, and can quickly render a pitch or court unsafe for play.

The danger with surface damage is that it rarely stays still. A seam that has started to lift will keep peeling as players run over it. A small tear catches a stud or a foot and grows wider by the week. An uneven patch where the base has shifted becomes a trip hazard and a point where water collects and accelerates further deterioration. What begins as a minor, inexpensive fix can, if ignored, escalate into a major repair, a closed facility, or a claim against you which could rise to tens of thousands of pounds. Acting early is always the cheaper and safer choice

As your surface gets older areas of failure can become apparent, particularly along the glued seams and inlaid lines. Similarly, high use areas will wear quickly, and damage can occur. You may also experience issues underneath your playing surface where the base may move resulting in uneven areas.

All of the above issues will result in your surface becoming a health and safety risk to players and may deem the pitch/court unsafe for use.

Fear not as in most situation situations we have the knowledge, expertise and skillset to repair any surface. Whether its an emergency callout for a small restick or largescale repairs to damaged or vandalised sections of your surface we can respond quickly and rectify effectively.

As part of our Free Survey we assess and measure both the surface’s infill levels and pile height which is then compared against the manufacturers specification/recommendations. Should additional infill be required, from providing small bags for the ongoing top up of high-use areas through to a full surface top up we can advise accordingly.

Our REPLENISH process includes, if necessary, a pre-brush of the surface to remove debris and help lift the fibres ready for the application of the infill. Depending on facility access and size we have a variety of specialist spreaders at our disposal to apply the new infill and groom it effectively into the fibres with the required brush or mat to leave the surface ready for play.

Occasionally extra rubber or sand infill may be left on site for in-house maintenance teams to top up in high-use areas when required.

The final stage is the redistribution and grooming of the infill back into the surface. If required, new infill can be applied to the surface at this point to ensure the fibres are supported and protected.

The end result is a surface with much-improved shock absorbency, drainage and playability.

(*Please be aware that the RENOVATE process may not always be the best option, particularly if you are experiencing drainage and silting issues with your surface. You may therefore want to check out our REJUVENATION process which can address these problems.)

We have large stock of all synthetic turf, in all colours, pile heights and sizes to ensure we can achieve the closest match to your existing surface.
